Question Smoothie Shakedown and FF Soup

    Hello everyone,

I have a question. I wanted to know if I can do the smoothie shakedown plan for two weeks then start the FF soup plan for about a week or two, then go back to the smoothie plan. Would this be healthy or also is this a good idea I want to try both plans to see which one works for me best. I really enjoy the smoothies but am curios about the soup plan. Please help!!

Hmmm, the soup has legumes in it but not enough to support the carb intake needed to keep your body from kicking into "starvation mode". What you could do is 2 weeks on SS then 1 on FFP P2 (the weight loss phase) then rotate over to FFSoup for a week or two OR, until you get tired of eating soup, LOL. It's great to keep your food varied, both for interest for you (don't want to get bored) but also to give your body variety: different food=different nutrient panels.

This sounds like it would be fun.

Elizabeth, I had the same idea..but maybe I will try Janine's advice.

Janine, can you add carrots to the soup to give it more carbs? If we do it the way that you suggested, will it keep the weight coming off or is it better to stick to one plan? I am just getting tired of shakes for breakfast and lunch everyday..But my family and I LOVE the soup and since it is getting cold, could eat it everyday.

Linda is the recipe Maven, maybe she'll have some suggestions, too.
You could serve your allowable carb on the side of the soup or you could add more legumes or, as you suggested (great idea!) you could add some carrots. The soup makes 10 servings so you'll need a total of 10 servings of carbs incorporated.

    Hi guys,
I'm thinking about starting the soup plan too. I did the Smoothie Shakedown for 4 weeks then moved to FFP Ph 1. Since being in Ph 1 my weight loss has stalled. I'm also thinking about having a Smoothie for breakfast only. What do ya think?

Made for More - that is just what I was thinking. I don't want my weight loss to stall, because it hasn't been what I wanted it to be anyway. Only lost 3.5 lbs in 2 weeks on the shakes..Maybe the soup will diet will be better for me.
Janine, I have been doubling the recipe, because my family eats it too, so maybe more legumes and carrots will do the trick.

    Made for More..

Don't know how much weight you want to lose, but the SS is only designed to be used for 4 weeks if you have less than 50 pounds to lose. If you have moved on to Phase 1 from there, you are probably experiencing a weight loss stall because your body isn't taking in enough calories to keep your metabolism stoked.

You should begin Phase 2, NOW. It may take a bit till you begin losing again, but ultimately your metabolism will kick in.

Enjoy a smoothie for breakfast if you like, with the rest of your day following the P2 guidelines.

The Soup Diet is just another form of detox (like P1 and the SS). While you can have the soup if you like (minus the beans) on P2, the actual plan should be saved for a time when you're ready for another detox.

Hope this helps! Do check in often so we can answer your questions and offer our support!

    dtisdale,

I don't know what your weight loss goals is, but the same advice I gave to Made for More (above) would also apply to you. Detox definitely has it's role in the Fat Flushing process, but only for the intended time period.

BTW..I worked on the Soup Diet recipe for Dr. Ann Louise and the magazine articles so it really makes me happy to hear others are enjoying it so much!

Thanks for the advice..I am moving on to the FF2 plan I guess, since everyone says not to go to the FF1 after SS..is that right? I went and bought everything food wise that I would need and am getting ready for the week ahead. Please let me know if it should be 2 and not 1.
