    Exclamation Pregnancy and suppliments

    Hello all,
Was hoping to get some advice. Was wondering why I was having such intense cravings and had ordered the Y C cleanse. When the bottles arrived I noticed I was late and surprise, surprise I'm pregnant! Well, I have alot of suppliments from the smoothie shakedown I was doing and was wondering what is safe to take? I also did the Fast Track cleanse quite awhile ago and have some of the liver detox (flora key, liver lovin) and was wondering what is good. Going to switch to Phase 3 and am taking a regular prenatal now but thinking that the normal prenatals seem pretty bare bone in the vitamin/minerals department. Any help would be appreciated! Also, I was pregnant back in March and then miscarried before I hit the 10 week mark and want to avoid that as well. I go for ultra sound this Sat (they think I'm at about 6 weeks now). So I know it's early but trying to do the right thing!
    Thanks!

Congrats Michele! I'm not the expert, but Phase 3 sounds just right for a pregnancy. Just make sure you get that calcium in.

My last pregnancy (21 years ago) came when I was 220 pounds. Terrified at gaining too much weight, I ate everything they said to - and nothing else. I gained 30 pounds - and lost 25 after my son was born. Following P3 would have been so much easier than eating eggs and peanut butter - LOL!

We're here for you all the way. Nothing like having a 9 month goal for all of us to stick to!

    Hugs from Maui

    Thanks Wendy
I'm excited but was hoping that I would have lost more by the time this happened again. At 213 as of this morning
When I had my son (who is now 11) I started at 190 and ended up at 230 because of preclamsia/swelling at the end.
I'd like to stay the same through this one but would be happy if I only gain 30! The cranberry water really helps with my swelling as it is so hoping that it will help this time. Can't wait for this Sat to find out if all is well. Nervous after last time....
Have you heard from the other Wendy? I've missed her on her blog and was worried.....
Still hoping that someone from Uni Key or the forum moderators will respond to my question though....
    Anyone out there?
    Thanks!
    Michele

    Hi Michelle,

First, congrats on your new pregnancy! My girls are 11 years apart as well and even though we tried to have them closer together, my body had other plans I guess!

Here is some info I came up with from a Forum search. However, I would highly recommend giving the friendly folks at Uni Key a call, or e-mail or schedule a consult with Dr. Ann Louise's nutritionist, Liz Beck (liz@unukeyhealth.com) for not only the most up to date recommendations, but also suggestions that are personalized to your specific needs.

    1) Phase 3 of the Fat Flush Plan is the eating regimen to follow
    2) The Dieters' Multi (despite the name) is an excellent all-round multiple with the 800 mcg of folic acid so vital to prevent birth defects
    3) The GLA 90's are helpful at the 2, 2 times per day dosage for beautiful skin and immune support for both mother and child.
    4) The Liver Lovin' Formula should replace the Weight Loss Formula to provide balanced support for the liver/hormones (especially estrogen/progesterone) balance, possible help in prevention of post partum depression and enhancement of overall health.
    5) CLA is not necessary at this time. I suggest instead that at least 200 mg of DHA be consumed in supplement form for normal infant growth and deveopment of the nervous system, retina and brain.
    6) Flora Key - one teaspoon twice per day to prevent systemic yeast and enhance GI tract immunity against virus, bacteria, allergens, and flu.

Good luck to you and do keep us posted!

    Thanks Linda
That's just what I was looking for. I little nervous being prenant at 40 but one of my best friends is due next month with her first at 43. And a lady I play bunco with didn't have her first til 42 so I guess it's not so uncommon anymore. Will send an email off to Liz once I know. Going to go grocery shopping tommorrow night for some good phase 3 foods
