hi folks and this is new territory for me so hey can you maybe bear with me cos i am probably going to sound like a total clueless idiot so with that in mind here goes .. ok to my question .
I am on day 2 of the progesterone cream and used it once each day in the morning .. weird and wonderful . i think its fair to say i am starting to feel glimmers of my old sorry wrong word !.. Young self positively bursting through again . age 15 (shuffle numbers in a particular order )! and
ive never used it before but noticed on both occasions I get unbelievably thirsty .
i mean thats cool and i can totally live with that if its normal .. drinking truckfulls of water cant be bad for you after all ..
is this everyones experience because i would hate to have to abort mission at this early very hopeful brainfog dispersing , i feel like myself again stage !! please dont burst my bubble ... very initially enthusiastic ...

    Hi Isabell!

So glad that you found us here on the Forum!! Welcome

I have used the Progesta-Key for a couple years now- it is seriously amazing stuff! Now that you mention it, I do drink a lot more water during the time that I'm using it, but I had never put two and two together. It doesn't bother me at all, and like you said, extra water certainly won't hurt!

If you're feeling good from using it (which it sounds like you definitely are!), then I would go right ahead using it! After 3-6 months you may consider having a Salivary Hormone Test just to see that all your levels are normal and in good balance with each other, but that is up to you.

    Best wishes!!

Isabell - So happy you are posting your question. I've used Progesta-Key for many years and never had that association. Maybe I just didn't notice it. I don't think it is a problem either. Many times we aren't thirsty enough to drink the water we need.

Sue , Liz thank you both for responding so quickly , its great to hear from people who have being using the progestakey for a while and the responses have been so encouraging and positive .
I hate bombarding you with questions but in my enthusiasm to get started on the product I started using it the second it arrived in the door and as my periods have been a little infrequent of late i am not entirely sure where in my cycle I technically am !!on paper at least .. perimenopausal i guess is not an exact science ..my last period was sept 10 . i was thinking if i use it for 14 days and then use pueraria mirifica for the following 14 , would that work for balancing the month out .i n terms of estrogen and progesterone balance . or would you just continue for 25 days with the progestkey .. i understand one size doesnt fit all but whats the best way to go forward here .

Hmm... I can say, in my experience of looking at hormone test results for many many women, we tend to always be deficient in progesterone relative to estrogen. So, I would assume that you needn't even worry about adding any estrogen- just continue with the progesta-key from the 7-25 days of your cycle if you are perimenopausal.

Ann Louise has always said that we get the best relief from our hormone related symptoms when our ratio between progesterone and estradiol is closest to 300:1. Most women are well below that perfect balance, so adding the progesterone cream makes a world of difference

Sue is right about the amount of progesterone relative to estrogen. You will want to take a Salivary Hormone Test at some point in the future just to check your levels.

ProgestaKey is one of my absolute favorite products. When I use it regularly my periods are lighter, much less painful and PMS is more or less a thing of the past (except a bit of chocolate cravings if I forget my magnesium ) LOVE it. So grateful for it!

Also I should mention that thanks to ProgestaKey and the guidelines in Hot Times both my mom and her sister have been able to breeze through perimenopause and have now been enjoying a virtually symptom-free for a while now! (How often do you see the words "enjoy" and "menopause" in the same sentence? )
