Hmmm...I never heard of that one either, Bad. Very interesting though!

Hope your back feels better soon! Dr. Ann Louise recommends magnesium for aches and pains which works as a natural muscle relaxer. You can start with 400 mg and see how you do. (and go to a max of 1200 mg depending on bowel tolerance...yep, it can relax that area too!)

    Joyous moments for today:

    1. Got on a pair of dress slacks that I haven't been able to hook for months
    2. My mid section roll doesn't sit on my desk anymore! I'm one of those lucky peeps that has the boobs, the midsection roll, then the muffin roll. I look like the marshmallow tire guy.
    3. I wanted my shake over a cup of coffee this morning. It wasn't long ago that I HAD to have coffee to get moving.
    4. Made it all day yesterday without my feet swelling in my flats. I've had very bad swelling issues in my feet although the docs say it's not gout. Some fancy Edema but very painful.

At this point I don't even care what the number says on my scale, the benefits I've received so far are worth it. Here's to day 11!

That is fabulous badgirl! I know what you mean about the edema in the feet. My left foot swells sometimes. Funny, it's only the left foot. On occasion the right foot swells too. But it can be uncomfortable. When that happens, I will lay down and elevate my feet just slightly above my heart. Seems to work.

    Keep up the wonderful work!

Thanks! Same issue, except its my right foot. Don't get me wrong, they both swell, but the right is more severe. To the point where I can't curl my toes or bend my foot up and down. Elevation hasn't ever worked and they actually had me go to a massage therapist for a while strictly for legs/ankles/feet. That was a minor relief that never lasted. Only thing that seemed to work was wearing tennis shoes as tight as possible but as soon as I would take them off they'd swell right up. It was quite a relief yesterday to have the tennies off and walk around in flats/barefoot with no pain.

Yea! Congrats! Loose clothes means you are a LOOZER too!

How's it feel to be part of the Incredible Shrinking Women Club?

    Wowee!

I know the edema bit. Battled it hourly for the last few years. Turns out I have lymph edema - for which there is no cure. Or so they say. What I've found is that the flax/cran combo and all the fluid we drink and the bouncing has moved that lymph fluid out.

If you can find a massage therapist who knows lomi lomi (ancient hawaiian massage), they will know how to work on you. And they have to work on your whole body. Moving the lymph fluid from your legs does no good if the rest of the system is clogged! My massage therapist is a lomi trained wonder. The first few weeks of my flushing she'd find different blockages in my system. She'd get them open and I have to work on keeping them open.

Now - no swelling. When it does come, it's from sitting and compressing a nerve in my lower back. The lymph edema is basically absent. It feels so good! Now I'm just working on getting my toes to move again (more nerve damage). Taking 20 pounds off has made a huge difference.

Hang in there. Every day is another day closer to being healthy and vibrant.

Will have to look up the lomi lomi in my area. I did think it was weird that the would just massage all the 'junk' up to my knee and stop. especially since I have junk knees!
