Just wanted to add my congrats for your weight loss and for posting to get support. You could try taking some magnesium for the pain in your arm. It helps muscles relax.

If you want to do a coffee smoothie, my favorite is with either vanilla (or occasionally chocolate) whey and frozen cherries or peaches. you can add a little cinnamon with the peaches. Then the usual flax oil and chia seeds. Flora-Key is also very good in it.

Wendy - Brilliant! Coffee cubes! I'll try that this weekend.

Liz - I will stop and pick up some Magnesium. If you can remember what growing pains felt like this is exactly it. Odd at 31 years old. lol

Well, I have good news and bad news from this weekend.

Lets start with the good first. I was able to pull my jeans off easily without unbuttoning them Friday. That lead me to attempt to try on a different style of jean I have. Not necessarily a different size, but not the relaxed, stretch bootcut fit the others were. These are the tighter cut, lower rise flares. I had to suck in a bit but by god I got them on and buttoned! Woo!

And the bad news. Went to a wedding reception Saturday and suppose I should have ate prior to going. I thought I'd have some choices but not many when I got there. So I ate a piece of roasted turkey, a scoop of fruit salad and 3 black olives. Doesn't sound bad right...yeah well I also had 3 Swedish meatballs, and a scoop of scalloped potatoes. I'm hoping all the dancing I did was enough to burn that off, but I skipped weighing myself this morning anyway.

On a side note, I think my hormones are all messed up, possibly because of the change in diet. Another reason why I don't want to weigh in. Aunt flow is a week late however I have the feeling she's just postponed herself to show on the 2 week weigh in marker for added bloat. Unless I'm starting perimenopause at 31 - wouldn't that just be swell!

    Mmmm, love those scalloped potatoes!

Just hand in there. You'll get back on track. At least those meatballs didn't make a quitter out of you.
At least we know that time will help us win this battle. No matter what shows up to teeter totter the scale -
in the long run it's gonna be a win for us LOOSERS!

Glad you are here, and looking forward to journeying with you.

Day 9 and feeling good. Guess all I needed to do was fret over aunt flo and she'd show. Good to know though, was getting a little freaked out. Any who.... good news again! All of my work pants are falling off. I can't wait to do measurements on the 14th. I'm also going to hold of weighing till then since I know I'm probably holding a bit of water right now with cycle.

I have an interesting question for the doc if she's ever on (or anyone else):
I've heard from many old time canners that you should not can tomatoes (or anything really) when you are on your cycle. Something to do with the hormones you release can spoil the food. Do you think there is any backing on that? You see the foot things that you tape on that pull toxins from your feet, so I can only imagine that the release of nasties happens through all pores. I have a bunch of tomatoes to can and not sure if I should just stuff them in the fridge for now and wait or it is all hogwash.

Saw in your journal that your clothes are falling off! Yea!
You know you've done something good when your clothes are loose and for me - my underwear fell off - LOL!

Congratulations on the falling off clothes! I haven't had that experience yet this time around. I'm looking forward to it. Keep up the good work!

Day 10 - Was gungho last night and decided to tear down the fence around my veggie garden. In doing so I wrenched my lower back. Sooooo much pain. Tried to avoid pain killers last night but I simply got no sleep. Had to break down and take a couple extra strength tylenol this morning. Ugh. Taking it easy today.

Not sure if this is an old wives tale or not. I am sure there is validity in the foot detox patches, just like the foot detox baths with the arrays that turn the water a yucky brown... But, If that were the case we all would need to wear protective gear just walking past a bakery! I mean, I can inhale deep and sniff in all those lovely pastries ... and then gain 10 pounds!
(Sorry I could not resist - my weird sense of humor is popping out!)

Seriously? I never heard of that. I do not see a problem. Otherwise, wait a few days.

But, having loose fitting (or lack thereof) of nothing short of phenomenal! I love closet clothes shopping! Good for you! Keep up the fantastic job!

Wendy(bird) - I hear you on sniffing past the bakery LOL! I'm generally in danger trying to sneak a peak at something Italian drenched in sauce let alone sniff it.

haven't really found a lot regarding the canning. Some say it's wives tale, some say it was legit back in the day when it was a more of a sanitary issue. But now that we are a cleaner society (so to speak) it's less of an issue. Eh, I'll probably just wait.
