    Default 2nd Week Phase 1 and Every Bite of Food Tastes Better Than Ever??

    I'm on my 2nd week of Phase 1 and I'm really behaving. This is working better than any diet I have ever been on. I'm taking all my supplements, cran water, flax, etc. plus Hoodia to stave off cravings, which is working great. I'm not craving pasta or bread and cheese, that's over. But I've noticed the craziest thing...the taste of my food is getting VERY intense, as in tasting sooooo much better than it ever has. I mean everything, eggs, salad, veggies, fruit, even an almond!
    I don't know if it is because of the detoxing, the fact that I am more mindful of everything I eat or what it could be. But it is STRANGE and quite intense. I'm a Vegetarian so I'm eating most of the usual things, just without the carbs or fats in the preparation. My sense of smell hasn't gone crazy, so what's up with the flavor boost?
    I guess I'm just worried, because I already love food and cooking/baking, etc. How the heck am I going to stay on this program for life when food has become so crazy good that I want MORE???

    I noticed this happening to me as well when I did the Fast Track. I think our tastebuds just change to appreciate the food without the interference of the "bad stuff" When I traveled and ate the "bad stuff" it didn't taste as good as I remembered. Don't know if that helps or not. How is it going with the shakedown or have you finished?

    Welcome to the Forum! So glad you are enjoying your food more. It means that you can eat less because you are more satisfied with the good you do eat. Whole fresh foods do taste amazing when you slow down enough to savor them. As much as I have always loved baked goodies, even really "healthy" ones don't taste as good as simple fruits and veggies. I can stop with a couple of bites of baked things. After that it doesn't get any better.It's just not "worth it".

    Hi JJ!

    Yes, that is one of the beautiful things about eating clean: food starts tasting so much better! I have experienced that again and again on the FFP.

    It sounds like you are doing fabulous, good for you!

    Just a quick note about hoodia, if I may... the jury is still out on whether it is completely safe. I realize you probably don't want to mess with a good thing, but may I suggest you slowly taper off and make sure you take your supplements and drink 1/2 your body weight on water (and cranwater)? The weight loss formula is fantastic for liver support and also contains ingredients that help against cravings, and once you are through week 1, you body should have adjusted to the lack of starches and you should feel completely satisfied on the allowed foods.

    Mind you, it is entirely up to you! But you might find that you save some money without the additional supplement and do just fine
