    Default questions

I a beginning SS for the first time in a week. I have a few more questions.

#1) I have read about having the Long Life Cocktail in the morning and evening in phase 1 of the original FFP. I do not see it listed to drink in the SS (which I am going to use for phase 1), I only see the 64 oz. daily of cranwater. So am I understanding it correctly that you do NOT drink the Long Life Cocktail for SS?

#2) I recently had my blood drawn at the doctor and she said that my thyroid was a bit low. The number was 4. 54. According to the lab the normal range is .47 to 4.53. The doctor told me that I may want to go on medicine because of the results and maybe it would help me lose weight. I did not really want to go on meds if I don't really need to. I told her that I was going on FFP and she said that nutrition will not change this thyroid concern, only meds. She said that if I was a "skinny minny" she wouldn't be too concerned, but it might help me lose weight. We left it that I would recheck my blood in 2 months and if it doesn't change or gets worse then I should consider trying a low dose of meds. In the mean time I am going to floor her with my FF results! I also researched online about the thyroid and it seems that their is a great debate as to the "normal range" for the TSH number. Many labs are not changing their ranges but new thinking by endocrinologists say that the numbers are too high and you should be treated at a level of 3. Which of course makes me very high. SO... after having said all of that I am wondering if anyone has any current info on thyroid as far as if diet/nutrition will help a sluggish thyroid and also what Dr. Gittlemans thoughts are about the meds., if necessary. Also has anyone else heard this news about the range changes? thanks

    Morning MiaMetta,

Wish I had answers for you, but I don't. Just want to say good questions and atta girl for digging deeper for more information.
Personally I believe that nature has a cure/resource for just about everything, so if you need to kick your thyroid up a bit, there
is probably a way to do it - and ALG probably has the answer.

Please share what you continue to discover - and welcome to the world of Fat Flushing!

I have another question. I was wondering if everyone uses the Clorox bath every time you eat fruits and veg? I sometimes have a hard time finding time to let it soak for 20 to 30 minutes. Is it ok to wash many things for a few days at a time? Also, if there is a lot of food to soak, can you remove one batch and use the same bath for more food if it doesn't appear too dirty? Or are there already too many poisons in it to use it?
First day is going good so far. Tomorrow when I have to work will be a little more difficult though so I am trying to save time! Thanks

Mia - just do the fruits and veggies when you purchase them - then they are ready for the week. Easy to let them soak while you are doing something else - laundry, shower, bouncing, walking. Then rinse and put away. I used to use a dishpan and it held all my purchases, so don't have an answer on reusing the water.

Very glad I don't have to do that anymore since I have lots of organic veggies out the back door.

    Hi Maria,
I agree with Wendy -- I do all the fruits and veges when I get home from shopping. I let them air dry and then refrigerate those that need to be stored in the fridge. Saves so much time during the week!

The question of whether or not to reuse the clorox bath water has come up before - the general concensus has been to use fresh water each time.

You're on the right track getting ready for a busy work week by planning ahead and taking time-saving tips where ever you can. Well done, YOU!

Wendy, you may want to consider cloroxing even your organic veggies: bird poop :0

I have hypothyroidism and have used armour thyroid for years...Armour thyroid is natural pig's thyroid and my medical doctor does prescribe it for me... Hopefully, you won't have to use it.

There is a self-test on unikey's website called TMA (tissue mineral analysis). It measures your potassium to calcium ratio, which
can be an indicator of thyroid function.

I also recommend unikey's adrenal formula and pregnenolone...you can read about them on the website.

Some info that I got from ALG's facebook page a while back might help you prepare for that re-check: excessive calcium slows down thyroid function but potassium balances thyroid function. She also recommended to cook cruciferous vegetables instead of eating them raw
because the sulfur content in those raw veggies can suppress thyroid function.

    I hope this helps you!

    Hi Janine -
We wash them in LOC when we have a big batch...otherwise I just do them in the sink salad by salad

Boo on your doctor for saying such a thing! Where there's a will, there's a way, and Miametta- if you want to manage your thyroid without medication, you can certainly do so with nutrition!
