    Default Help! Suggestions please....

So I've been doing phase 1 of the classic fat flush just short of a week. The 1st few days were great, I did a little headache, just from lack of caffine I think, but around day 3 or 4 I got really bloated, have very hard stool and a very hard time having bowel movements, plus very fowel smelling gas and it hasn't gone away on gotten worse. What am I eating that my body can digest???
It's been aweful, every night I'm so bloated that I have to massage my stomach. This doesn't seem right. I first thought it was the eggs I've been eating (I've always had digestive issues with eggs). But when the symptoms just got worse I thought it must be something I'm eating. I feel pretty good about how closely I've been following the plan, but I'm just not handling the protien maybe. Thanks everyone for your suggestions and advice...

Good Morning and welcome to the Forum Mommythinks
What you're experiencing is very common with detox and diet change. Take 800mg of magnesium tonight, before bed, to get things moving. Then take 400mg each night to keep things moving. It is an essential nutrient to the body so don't worry about taking it. If the 400mg doesn't work for you, you can continue with the higher dose and even move (ha ha) up to 1200mg if needed. It is a wonderful muscle relaxer and being the colon is a muscle, well, you get the idea.

Keep us posted okay? Let us know how or if it's going. (Sorry couldn't resist the bathroom pun).

Thanks so much...I do feel bad because I felt so lousy this morning that had whole wheat toast with my kids. I was just trying to feel better...and it didn't work. Anyway, I'm back on track, I'll get some magnesium this afternoon. Thanks for you advice. One more question how long should this last?

Hey I'm just keeping you posted. Things started to move this morning...I feel much better. I took a lot of activated charcol to deal with the gas and just took twice as much fiber in the past 2 days and that seemed to get things on it's way out. I never got to the store to pick my mag though. Thanks again

Hi! My first week on FFP made me feel like a walking wasteland. The , headaches, bloating, foul smells... I won't paint the dismal picture, but, that is your liver and lymphatic system doing some major "house cleaning". Everyone is different with the detoxing, but, what you are doing, you are doing right! Keep it up, by the second week, you should start feeling better and more energy will arise from that. I am almost finished with my second week on phase 1 of FFP and I feel better this week. AND, my body is gettin' in the Fat Flushin' groove! Not ready to get on the scale, but I know I have lost weight AND inches!

I use Natural Calm Magnesium every night before going to bed. I sleep better and helps keep me regular. :0)

    Good luck!

Sorry that you have been feeling so badly. Hopefully the magnesium will get things moving! If you continue to have problems digesting protein, you may want to try taking a hydrochloric acid supplement with meals. here's a link to one of Ann Louise's blogs about it:

Hello! I'm on my 2nd week and had the same issues...Try an apple. The pectin & fiber worked for me! They don't call apples "Nature's Whiskbroom" for nothing!

    Hi JustJJ,
Welcome to the Forum! (love your screen name!)

I agree with you completely about apples' "special" benefits...the same thing happens to me with pears! And now that we are getting into fall, pretty soon there will be lots of delicious varieties for us to choose from to get our daily "fix!"

Hope to see you around the Forum often...
If you like, post a little intro about yourself in the Stop By and Say Hi section so we can officially welcome you.
