    Default Vegetarian question

    Hi,

I'm on day 7 of the Smoothie Shakedown and plan in moving to FF Phase 2 afterwards. Just have a quick question. I'm a vegetarian and wondering if all of the vegetarian dishes in Fat Flush For Life are Phase 2 acceptable?

    Thanks so much,
    Michelle

    Hi nonniecita,

Kudos to you for planning ahead!

You ask a really great question. The Vegetarian Plan in Fat Flush for Life is in the Autumn section of the book. As you will be transitioning from the Shakedown and are a vegetarian, to make your plan as simple as possible, I would recommend going right into Month 2. (which is the closest aligned with Classic Phase 2). This way, you can make sure your protein needs are met as well as be able to benefit from the addition of the Clean Carbs that Month 2 includes.

Check the recipe section in FF4Life for vegetarian dishes you can enjoy. Every dish is labelled as to what season they can be used. I don't believe they are broken down into specific months of the Autumn Plan, but if the ingredients are part of Month 2, go for it!

    Hope this helps!

Keep checking in to let us know how you are doing, k?

Thanks so much, Linda. That's what I needed to know! I do have another question. I'll be done with the SS next Tuesday and beginning P2 on Wednesday. I'll be going on vacation for one week. I will be off the plan for the week! I'm sure I'll gain some weight back and am ok with that. When I get back from vacation, should I go back on P2 or P1?

    Thanks again for your help,
    Michelle

    Hi nonncieta,

Glad to help! Have a good time on your vacation and when you get back, continue on with P2. No need to go through another detox so soon...in fact it could hamper your weight loss.

That said...be as mindful as you can about your food choices while away! Stick with lean proteins, tons of veggies, salads and 1-2 servings of P2 carbs daily and you'll do fine! And don't forget to get plenty of water in! Strive to get in your exercise daily...if you are vacationing where outdoor activities are available, take advantage of the chance to vary from your normal routine. With careful attention (and a mini indulgence here and there if you need it!) you can actually return with little to no weight gain!

Continue keeping us posted and have a BLAST on your vacation!

So, today I weighed in at 128.8! I had went up to 130.4 yesterday. So, I've lost around a little over 8 pounds in nine days. That's pretty great, right? I have a very small frame and should probably weigh between 110-115. I'm shooting for 115. I had actually started running with my husband from May-August and did not see any results (weight loss) with that, so I decided to to the SS. I do plan to start back running at some point, though. It is great exercise, but I really wanted a lot of the weight gone before I begin again.

Don't be down, when you start the running, if you don't lose or maybe even put a little weigh on; muscle weighs more than fat! Be sure to use a tape measure You'll be losing inches, too.

9 pounds is stellar! Just think, that's a bowling ball! Wow!!! Janine's suggestion to measure yourself when you start running again is spot on. As a runner myself I know from experience that the scale can "lie" when you run frequently. A few extra pounds show up and that's disappointing till you see that you're still losing inches.
