Default Just started today and am starving!

Hello, I just started the Smoothie Shakedown. I am 5'8" and 170 lbs. Because of several health issues, I am on several medications, including prednisone. Going off my medications is not an option.

I had a delicious, chocolate smoothie with berries, almond milk (unsweetened) flax seed and flax oil this morning but I was so hungry within two hours. I had the shakes and could tell my blood sugar was low. I am taking a multivitamin and my GLA's as well as the Weight Loss Formula. I wasn't able to do two smoothies today as the program dictates because I was so hungry.

Any tips or advice? Thank you in advance. I am wanting to drop 20-25 lbs.

Oh no, I just saw that I bought the wrong smoothie mix. I have the chocolate whey instead of the brown rice and pea protein shake. Will that hinder things for me?

    Hi Medora!

The Body Protein was designed for use with the Smoothie Shakedown in that it serves to satisfy hunger for 4 (or more) hours.
In addition, the chocolate whey is designed for use (in the FF) only up to two times per week.

So, that being said - what can you do? Well, the "ideal" thing would be to order the Body Protein and go with that. But, if your pennies are being pinched, then go with the chocolate whey.

To top things off, and fight those hunger pangs, make sure you're following the Shakedown guidelines and that you're getting in everything you should be! Check out http://smoothieshakedown.com/complete-mealplan/

Post again and let us know how things are going for you!

THanks. I definitely cannot afford to order another tub of protein shake so I will continue with the chocolate whey. I am adding flax seed and flax oil to it while taking the supplements. I hope to see a loss after a week! Thanks for replying to my post.

Remember to snack on veggies between meals & drink the cran-water! I found that helped on the first couple of days to curb the hungry-grumblies!
    Keep with it!

Thanks everyone. I am happy to report a 5 lb loss last week (week 1). I even made a pan of pumpkin chocolate chip brownies for my husband last night and only ate a little instead of half a pan, like I would in the past. My cravings are much better! No inches lost though but 5 lbs is great. I am still on my increased dose of prednisone so being able to lose weight and crave less on this drug is a miracle! I just ordered some CLA and am looking forward to continuing on this plan.

Medora, you are going to do GREAT! The way I approach this is not about the pounds lost but how I feel healthwise and how my clothes fit. My energy level is so much higher!!! I figured it took me a couple of years to put my weight on, that the least I can do is respect my body enough to give it the time to get the weight off. I am now feeding my body (FF) the way it was meant to be nourished - the weight loss is a bonus. I think I am down about 20-25 lbs now after 2 months. I'm not sure because I'm not focusing on the scale. I have just determined that this is the eating life style that I need to follow for life long
Good luck! Eat lots of veggies! (Kari's Marvelously Mashed Cauliflower recipe in FF cook book is AMAZING!!!!!, I made it with the FF Shepherds pie recipe! YUM!)

Congrats for hanging in there for a week! And you have a weight loss bonus also! Yea!
Just remember that your veggies are free (for the most part). I am fortunate that I have a garden, but
I had to laugh yesterday when I realized I can never say I'm hungry again - because I have the entire yard
to eat before that could happen!

Try some veggies with crunch - cabbage, cucumber, your one carrot. Chop up, fill a plate. Add tomatoes, peppers and your other favorites. Drizzle with oil/vinegar and enjoy!

Just remember to count the oil in the 2 Tbs for the day. I like to put lemon flavored fish oil on my salads.

Thank you everyone! I have some Flax Oil and milled flax seeds. We just got our bi-monthly organic delivery and I have about two lbs of zucchini, broccoli, tons of fruit. I can't even remember all the goodies we got. So I have plenty to munch on now.
