Tell me if this belongs somewhere else - I debated over here or General Questions. I'm newly starting FF for a 2nd time. I had great success a few years ago, but I found that when we traveled to France to visit the in-laws it was nearly impossible to maintain even the Phase 3 lifestyle. Once we returned, dh and I tried to go back to phase 1 to re-detox, but neither of us was successful restricting our diets again. We will be going again next summer, so we have almost a year to get more solid in the lifestyle, but I worry about falling off the wagon again.
There are a *lot* of carbs and cheese that are built into the culture, and it's our experience that french fries are often considered a vegetable. Dh's parents live in the south and live a rather "country" lifestyle. They may or may not offer salads regularly. To make matters worse, I do not eat meat, so I really depend on whey to meet my protein requirements, which I was not able to find in France.
Any tips for how to travel for extended times (3 weeks or more), stay with other people, and maintain a good lifestyle. I need the support of a good group to know that it will be possible and I will not spoil all of my hard work and healthy living.
