    Default whey protein question

Sigh. Here I am again, after seeing a "nutrition specialist," with a question about a basic fat flush staple. Last time it was a "life coach" (and nutritionist) who freaked out about flax oil.
Today, I went to see an herbalist to deal with a loooong term lung/sinus issue, and we went over my diet, which she greatly approved of. (she's into the paleo diet) Except...
"OMG STOP THE WHEY POWDER ASAP!!!!!!!!!!! It triggers an insulin response! It's terrible for you! Add two eggs yolks to your smoothie instead!"
(I mentioned the body protein, from peas (I think) and she said it's "not found in nature," as in too refined. I don't believe this. But- I really like using the weight powder anyway).

I'll say again: I have such great faith in FF and ALG, but I just want to know what this view is about.

PS after losing over 40 lbs on FF 8 or so years ago, and gaining that back and more over the years, I'm back and
I've lost 16 lbs on FF over the last 6 weeks and FEEL GREAT!!!!!!!

Thanks so much for your wisdom and great work!!!!

    Lynne44 -

Well, I have to say that this is the first time that I've heard this... either about ALG's Whey Protein or the Body Protein! I would say to go with your "best opinion" - if you've been using the whey protein without any problems, then continue. (And BTW, 16 pounds over the last 6 weeks? WOW!!)

    HTH!!

    Hi Tinkster!
I did some looking into the whole paleo thing, and it led me to lots of websites on "nutrition." My head is spinning. It seems that there is a huge fad right now where people love to get on-line and debate about the microscopic nitty-gritty of nutrition--despite an obvious lack of ANY training or education in the field. It's absolutely ridiculous. One poster, at the end of an exhausting thread, actually said "One thing's for sure, biology is complicated!" DUH.
From what I read, I could see how the herbalist formed her opinion. I also saw lots of info contradicting her advice.
One book author, "big" in the paleo movement, recommends cooking with flax oil (!!!!!!!)

I TRUST ALG! FF works for me, and whey works for me... and I look forward to trying the body protein soon.

Thanks so much for your response!

I like your way of thinking, Lynne!

Do let us know what you think of the Body Protein after you've had a chance to try it. What I find works best for me is to let my body reap the benefits of both protein powders, so I switch back and forth between the two regularly.
