    Question Day 2....I have questions!

I survived my first day, however, I had a terrible headache all day yesterday & took quite a few ibuprofen to ease the pain throughout the day. I just read someone else's post & it said you're not supposed to take anything like that? Is this true?

2nd question- can you eat organic hummus? Its one of my favorites with raw veggies!

And lastly - where can I go to find recipes from other people who are on SS? I printed the ones on the main page but I need more ideas!

    Thanks!

    Hi Sheila!
Congrats on making it through your first day! Detox head aches are really common. Ideally, you would stay away from ibuprofen, but you'll be fine even though you had some! I would pick up some magnesium- take 400-1200mg throughout the day to ease tension and relieve your head aches.
Hummus is allowed on P3... until then check here > http://www.annlouiseforum.com/showth...es-for-Phase-1 for other P1 friendly snack ideas!
If you've printed all the recipes at www.smoothieshakedown.com, you can use any P1 friendly recipe from www.fatflush.com Look in the blog section. You can also "Like" Fat Flush Smoothie Shakedown on Facebook and post a shout out to other Shakers to share their recipes!

Keep up the good work, and check in often! We love to answer questions and give you encouragement if you need it

    Hi Sheila!

Sue gave you wonderful suggestions...I just wanted to add that if you love recipes, get yourself a copy of the Fat Flush Cookbook. It's a great resource for all kinds of yummy recipes for all the phases, but especially for Phase 1. Keep in mind though, the cookbook was published prior to the creation of the Shakedown, so it won't be mentioned in the book. But feel free to use any of the P1 recipes! (just keep in mind the daily food allowances for the SS)

Also, take a look at my website (see below) where you will find even more recipes for you to explore! Not all are SS or P1 friendly, but many can be adapted as needed. I also offer Food Coaching for the SS and all FF plans...if you're interested in finding out more, just shoot me an e-mail, k?

    Happy Flushing!

What about the detox triggers headaches? I have a pretty high tolerance for pain and know that many of my headaches are triggered from dehydration. I want to be prepared for when I start the Shakedown. I don't take extra Mg during the day, only at bedtime.
    Thanks!

    Hi Millie!
Detox headaches are often caused by process of taking toxins, which are sequestered in fat cells deep in your tissues, and drawing them out so your body can remove them. If your detox pathways are clogged, toxins are sequestered to protect yourself from damage. As they are released and removed from your body, you can feel their full toxic effect. It's short lived if you support yourself properly, for instance with the Smoothie Shakedown, Phase 1 of Fat Flush, or the Fast Track Detox Diet.
Some tips to make it easy as possible:
    Do drink plenty of water
Do allow yourself to rest and relax
Do light stretching and/or yoga- anything that gets your lymph tissue moving
Do take magnesium to relieve tension
Do support your liver, and your adrenal glands with Liver Lovin' Formula, Adrenal Formula, 2 eggs daily, a variety of dark leafy greens
Do take salt and soda baths (1 cup salt, 1 cup baking soda- sit and relax until water cools, do not rinse after)
    Don't over exercise!
    Don't stress!
Don't commit to anything except "me" time for those first couple of days!

You'll do fine, and feel phenom afterwards!

Usually it lasts only a day or two at the most. It really depends on how you were eating before and what other toxins you may have been exposed to. Even though it can be uncomfortable it means that you are getting rid of all those harmful toxins so you will feel even better and have more energy in the future.

Thanks! You know, I didn't think I was eating so poorly, but my diet definitley had room for improvement. So today is day 7 and I am still somewhat achey. I am thinking the prescriptiion meds I've been taking the last few years probably have something to do with that. Persevering . . . have felt well enough to exercise the last 2 days. Yay!
