Dear Forum mates,
So, I was doing fabulously. No cheats (except the 'legal cheat' of organic coffee in am). For three days, perfection. It was a struggle of course to fend off the cravings but i managed with the hard boiled egg snacks and lots of celery!
Last night, I was having a lovely piece of salmon at home. I carefully checked for bones, pulled out 2 along the way. On the VERY LAST BITE - just as I'd gotten a bit of shocking news - I felt bones in my mouth. I spit out the mouthful, one bone came out, but ONE BONE WENT DOWN!
Of course, I did what everyone would do in the situation - after trying to spit it up - I checked the internet. The advice was generally, try to push it down with bread or fizzy drink, or go to Emergency Room!
No insurance, so I rushed out to buy a loaf of nice bread and fizzy water. Not sure if the bread did anything because the feeling remained.
This morning, it still felt stuck, so I went to an Ear Nose Throat doctor, and $150 later, he says there is no bone there and the feeling is probably from a scratch when it originally went down... and if it doesn't go away in a week, to come back.
Crisis over.
Meantime - ALL THAT BREAD! I am so disappointed. I of course started back on the plan as normal today but wondering how much damage all those bites of fresh foccacia bread (salty!) may have done.
Note, I'd lost 5 pounds already (water I'm sure) and am too upset to get on the scale this morning.
Thanks.
Okabo
