"cheating" leads to upset instestines? Or is it my gallbladder?
As I mentioned in another thread I've been bad lately and ate things I shouldn't like 2 cookies with lunch or a donut or even, gasp, fries and chicken nuggets from McDonalds. So, the next morning after cheating like that I always have diarrhea. Does that happen to other people that cheat? I'm asking because I had my gallbladder out at the end of May and I'm wondering if my body is still having trouble adjusting to not having a gallbladder or if my body is getting used to eating healthy and when I don't it gets upset and doesn't know what to do with the bad stuff. Anyone else have similar experience? I'm sure I"m not the only one that cheats sometimes...
I definitely think both reasons are distinct possibilities..
Could be too that if you have a history of food sensitivities (like dairy, gluten, etc.) and after eating a clean diet for weeks, your intestinal system feels under attack when you go back to the trouble foods. Happens to me everytime with both gluten and dairy.
Of course, there are are times when you are going to eat off-plan foods. It's called real life. But just know that you may suffer some consequences that are hopefully temporary until you resume your healthy eating plan. What will hopefully occur in time is that you'll learn to weigh whether eating the offending foods is really worth the annoying symptoms they can cause. You would be surprised how easy it then can become to say "no."
Hope this helps...feel better soon!
