I heard recently that one should focus more on the glycemic "load" of food rather than the glycemic "index". Essentially the glycemic index looks at how much sugar is in there and how much it will raise your blood sugar. Glycemic load looks at how much sugar as compared to fiber. For example, carrots have a higher glycemic index than other veggies but its negated since they are high in fiber so the glycemic load theory says eat as many carrots as you want.

What does ALG think about that? What do you guys think? I'm curious as this is the first time I have heard of the distinction and it is very interesting.
