Anyone experience Burning Mouth Syndrome associated with hormone changes, menopause?
This condition may be associated with vitamin B12 deficiency or an oral yeast infection (candida albicans). Haven't seen it associated with menopause.

Do you use any oral inhalers for allergys or asthma? Many of them cause this problem in the mouth...Candida...
Hi there! No, I do not use any oral inhalers of any kind. I have seen dentists and even an oral surgeon regarding the midline and upper roof of my mouth soreness, but they have said everything looks normal on any xrays, etc. No candida, either. I have had this soreness every day now for over 7 months. Feels good in the morning, then around 10 am, starts to get sore, then lasts all day. Chewing gum helps, believe it or not, as well as chewing ice. I decided to try the internet for possible reasons, and what I found out surprised me! I read that "Burning Mouth Syndrome, or Burning Tongue", can be caused by Hormone Changes, and that 40% of menopausal women (which I am, I'm 53) have this strange symptom to menopause! It stated on WebMd that it can last 3 to 7 years! I can't seem to find anyone who has
gone through this particular problem to ask how they got relief, so just thought I'd give you a try!
Neelyshari,
I know this is a very late post but I just saw this. I have a similar condition that has confounded doctors, too. I recently had a biopsy and found it was a form of lichen planus which is a name for a mysterious skin condition that can manifest in the mouth. It is alleviated by various treatments, among them are steroid gel, and also "oil pulling" with sesame oil. Obviously the oil pulling ( a process by which you take a tbsp of oil and draw it through your teeth for about a minute) is more appealing to Fat Flushers. The origins of the malady is shrouded in mystery ( probably because it affects more women of a certain age than men), however stress is one of the suspects.
Hi Kit!
So good to hear from you.
Thank you for sharing this valuable information. I hope oil pulling can be helpful for your condition. If anyone wants more information on the oil pulling process, make sure to get a copy of Fat Flush for Life. Dr. Ann Louise has been a big proponent of oil pulling for many years and shares her thoughts as well as detailed directions in the book.

Celebrating 12 YEARS of Fat Flushing!
neelyshari.....I've suffered several years now with recurring oral ulcers in the inside of the "smile corners" of my mouth. It seemed to start with mouth soreness caused by taking extra Vit. A supplement and improved briefly when I stopped taking it.
Since then my mouth has had recurring ulcers when I eat certain very acidic foods such as walnuts and strawberries and fresh pineapple, which also cause painful bumps on my tongue. My dr. has given me an Rx for dental paste (very expensive by the way) which coats the ulcers temporarily but does get rid of them. I do think stress exacerbates them and lately I've gone for long periods with very little symptoms.
I don't have an answer for you but I fully sympathize with you.....I am now 70 and have had this problem for maybe 10 years....MollyK.
p.s. I did discover that chewing gum for dry mouth helped that problem but increased my mouth soreness.

Every so often I will get sores in my mouth. I always thought is was a kind of canker sore. Always got them and even more during my change! For any sores in the mouth and teeth, I have always used a 3% solution of hydrogen peroxide, put in in my mouth, a little swishing and spit out, then rinse the mouth out with water. (Do NOT swallow ~ shelf brands contain stabilizers that can cause neurological issues if swallowed). Did that a few times a day and the sores cleared up in a day or two. Oil pulling has even greater benefits. I try to do it daily while I am in the shower and spit the oil out in the toilet. Both will brighten your teeth too!
Now, I have dry mouth as a result of the throat cancer surgery I went thru. I just drink lots of water and chew sugarless gum.
