    Default Phase 1, day 1

    Tuesday, 9-6-2011
    Phase 1, Day 1
    Starting weight: 123.8
Exercise: 10 minutes on rebounder w/75 jumping jacks

My first day went well, I think. I didn't get my walk in because I spent most of the afternoon doing the clorox baths on my vegies and fruits. I've not ever done this before & found that it takes quite a bit of time. After finally finishing it was time for the Farmers Market, so I went there and ended up buying more vegies! So, guess what I'll be doing tomorrow?

I got all my cranwater, supplements, fruits, LLC, and LW in today. I did eat a small piece of bread, tho. It kept calling to me and I finally gave in. Now it's in the cupboard where I can't see it. Tomorrow I will take the bread and other grocery items to DD so her family can enjoy them and I won't have to resist it anymore.

I started a support thread for others on Phase 1 and as of this morning there were no replies other than Tink and I. So when I got on the board to write in my journal I checked the thread first and was surprised that 3 other ladies are going through detox now--two are doing SS and one is starting week two of Phase 1. Love it that there will be others to talk with and support each other.

Time for bed. Will update tomorrow.

    Default Phase 1, day 2

    Wednesday, 9-7-11
    Phase 1, day 2
    Weight: 122.4 (-1.4 lbs.)
Exercise: 20 min. on rebounder w/75 jumping jacks, 20 minute walk

Another good day today. Had all my cranwater, supplements, LLC, and LW. Exercised 20 minutes on rebounder and also took a 20 minute walk this evening.

I was still hungry after dinner so I had a second smoothie. Since I'd eaten both my fruit allotments today, I made it a lime one--tasted great but would have been better if I'd had ice cubes to put in it.

I didn't sleep well last night--kept waking up about every hour and then at 5 AM I couldn't go back to sleep. I'm heading to bed early tonight as I'm really tired.

I am disappointed in the fact that I can't seem to focus long enough to get anything completed. I've been on vacation for three days now and have gotten little accomplished. Usually on my vacation I get all sorts of projects done around the house. Hopefully tomorrow the tide will turn.

    Default Phase 1, day 3

    Thursday, Sept. 8, 2011
    Phase 1, Day 3
    Weight: 122.2 (-.2)
    Exercise: none

Very busy day today and I didn't do as well either. Had my LW, both fruits, fell short on my cranwater, LLC, missed one dose of my supplements and had no exercise.

Hopefully things will go smoother tomorrow.

Oh, I tried a new recipe today and liked it. The Shrimp Creole in the FFP book--actually very good. Will most likely make it again.

Turning the page for a new start tomorrow.....

    Default Phase 1, day 7

    Phase 1, Day 7
    Monday, 9-12-11
    Weight: 120.8 (-1#)
Exercise: 20 minutes on rebounder & abt. 20 "breaths" w/bodyflex

For some unknown reason, it was really hard to get going today. Even my rebounding didn't go so smooth, but I did get reaquainted with Body Flex and am hoping to build up to 40 breaths per day with that.

This past week has been hard!! I admit that I've been struggling almost the whole week. I've had one thing after another thrown at me and have had very little time to do planned projects and to stay on track with the Plan. I was tempted many times to "throw in the towel". And even now, I really want to have a whopper and fries.

Today I went in for a second mammogram on my left side and they also did an ultrasound to get a better look at the area. I don't know whether to be worried or not?? The techs said not, but they really can't say anything other than that probably. Now I have to wait another week for my results letter, or maybe I'll just call the Doctor & find out sooner.

I'm certainly hoping for a better week starting tomorrow!

    Later,

Default Review of first week on Phase 1

    FFP, Phase 1, Day 8
    Tuesday, 9-13-11
    Weight: 120.0 (-.8lbs.)
Weight loss in first week: 3.8 lbs.
Exercise: 10 minutes on rebounder doing "Keep on Rebounding" video, several breaths with Bodyflex

My thoughts on the first week: Wow, I really struggled this time--not so much with the eating part, but with unforseen things happening in my week which pushed me off schedule. There were Doctors appointments, tests at the hospital, babysitting DGS while DD went to the hospital, Mom falling, etc., etc. Many events caused me to miss meals, eat late, miss snacks, not get enough cranwater in, and on and on. With all that stress, the weight loss I'd been having at the beginning of the week just stopped until yesterday. I am truly hoping that things will be better this week. I'm still on vaction but have many outings planned with my grandkids at a local celebration this week.

My energy level: I must say that the "slump" of years past returned. Almost every time I go into Phase 1, I lose what little energy I have (mostly from caffine & sugar!). It was hard work just getting up in the morning. Some mornings were worse than others. Finally on Sunday I felt better and actually started on some of the projects around the house that I'd planned on doing.

My Challenges & Goals for the upcoming week: As I've already said, there are many activities planned this week as we're having a local celebration starting Thursday, I just need to plan, plan, plan.
Also with the new freezer, I'd hoped to try some new meals and freeze the extra so that when I go back to work I'll have ready-made meals to take. With all that happened, I only tried one new thing--Shrimp Creole....so I'm hoping to try a few more meals out of the cookbook and FFP book.
I would like to increase my time on the rebounder & be able to do 75% of the exercises on the video. Also want to do BodyFlex at least 5 times this week and increase to the full routine.
I also would like to lose 5 more pounds, but I'm not sure that's realistic. I'm going to give it a try tho. I'm thinking that I usually lose those five pounds the first week and I didn't this time. If I do lose five more, that would put me at 115 lbs. --SWEET!!

I didn't take my measurements today. I decided to wait until next week.

    Fat Flush Plan, Phase 2.5

I've been re-reading the Fat Flush Menu thread and Foxy's & Lisa's journals on the low carb board. I miss them and the friendships we developed when we were all doing the Fat Flush Plan. I wonder how they are doing and I'm sad that I walked away from F.F. and the board in '07. It was stupid--I was 4 pounds from goal when I went on vacation. Getting back on Phase 1 to lose the weight gain from Vacation was hard, but the weight WAS coming off albeit slowly ('cause I wasn't staying on plan).

When I finally got my head on straight in 2009, I posted on this board for my support. Met goal of 105 then, but went back to eating the same ole stuff and the weight came back. Since then I have tried one thing after another and whatever diet I am on works for a short time and then I start gaining instead of losing. Not so with Fat Flush.

Yes, it works, but is so retrictive. On the other hand, I DO feel better on TFFP. And looking back on my posts on both boards, I'm thinking maybe my body doesn't like some of the things I usually eat when I'm not on FF. Things like dairy, maybe wheat & or gluten. I know that I love/crave bread.....a month or so ago I was amazed about how much bread I had been eating every day!

When I meet goal this time, I must change my way of eating to NOT put it all back on. Each time it's harder to lose--both the weight and inches. And even when I met goal of 105 in 2009, I was not where I was inch wise in 2007. My tummy was much smaller the first time. I was wearing size 4's that were too big for me!! In 2009 at 105 I could wear some size 6's but they were tight. My neck, upper arms & chest, & tummy were not as tight/slim. What was the difference? My age? I don't know.

I DO know, however, that I am on a fast track to looking like my Grandmother--just like my mother always told me I would. My grandmother was around my height--4' 11" and weighed close to 200 pounds. She died young, probably because of the weight as did her mother & for the same reason. I do not want that for myself. I want to see my grandchildren grow older, go to college and get married. Might like to stay around to meet my gr. grandchildren too! I must come to grips with how I want to live my life. Do I want to be restricted in what I eat? Or do I want free reign of my eating only to shorten my life? My choice.....and only my choice.

Heavy thoughts I've been having today. Something I must mull around for a while. I do wish that I had a friend in this (new) journey. It would make it much better. But then again....maybe I must walk it alone. Maybe that is the key, because I can not do this for another--I must do it for myself. And I must choose it myself. And I must walk the path that I've chosen for myself.
