    Today is going to be a GREAT day... I can feel it!

    Yesterday was odd... must be hormonal... I was sooo hungry and I have not been while doing the soup! I ate an early dinner I was so hungry last night. Then a no no... grabbed a handful of almonds to nosh on while watching tv. Finally gave up and went to bed as I couldn't trust myself in the kitchen!

    2 hrs later.... never finished this post! Had to get out the door for blood work and a follow up chest X-ray. Stepped on scale and holding at 168. Must be the nuts last night that said 'no weight loss for you Lisa'

    Time to make breakfast!

    I'm back!

    Took a wrong turn and found a ton of weight on an off beaten path.
    A friend of mine convinced me to consider doing a ( insert brand detox program here ) 10 day detox with her.
    OMG can I just say how YUCKKY it is???? Smells and tastes like infant formula. ... ewwwww

    I'm off 'flesh' food (chick, beef, turkey) for the duration...being a vegetarian and eating veggies, veggies, veggies and more veggies...oh and fruit too... and beans ick.. I hate beans! but I puree them. I've decided to make the FF yummy soup and consume that for lunch and dinner for the 10 days...just the veg. version.

    Today I am feeling a bit nauseaus and not sure if it is from the detox icky powder or if it is the stomach bug or if it is just detoxing... oh and am gassy to... from the beans!

    Once my 10 days are up... I'm going to start back on phase 2. I don't think I can continue on eating the vegetarian way... sorry.. I like my 'flesh food' haha

    I am thinking I might be back at FF Ph 2 quicker than I thought. The detox was to last til Wed but I am finding this unbearable. Today I was craving my FF lifestyle...especially my morning eggs.

    Today... day 1 of phase 1. After trying to stick to that other detox.. I have to admit I miserably failed. The powder you had to mix and drink was horrible and left you wanting something to get the aftertaste out of your mouth. And the dang stuff repeated on me...blah!!

    There was no variety like on FF phase 1. SO... I even though I feel guilty for wasting $$ on it and abandoning my friends... I threw it away this morning. I was never so happy to cook up eggs for my breakfast!! AND I will have my FF smoothie in about an hour. I can go to lunch with my friends too... just going to bring along my own salad dressing and get a grilled chicken salad... omg I am in heaven!!!

    Watching parts of the Boston Marathon today am a bit envious of those strong women... I am NOT a runner. I am an exerciser though and look forward to my daily walks.

    So here's to a new found appreciation to all ALG has done for us by writing and developing FF plan!!

    Hear that???? Yep BLISS!!! I had a wonderful day that was made even better by eating clean!
    Drank all my CW, had a wonderful lunch out with my younger sister and her girls and tonight cooked up chicken and green beans. I even made a delicious salad and since I'd had both my allotments of flax oil, I sprinkled a bit of lemon and ACV on my salad... YUM!!
    Tomorrow I will add in a walk to the regime.

    For of you who do not own a copy of the FF cookbook, I advise you to run out and get one!
    I opened it up to the chicken recipes and made the spicy chicken wraps.... OMG delicious!!
    Think PF Changs lettuce wraps only better!!
    I had invited my mother in law to dinner (or actually she called this morning wanting to visit with my daughter and I so I said dinner would be good. She had wanted to take us out.) I decide instead of going out, we'd eat in. She LOVED the meal as did my daughter
    After dinner it was strawberries for dessert.

    Can't wait to try some other recipes I hadn't tried before. Tonight my daughter wanted to go swim at the YMCA but I think I will jump on the treadmill for half an hour and then get in my jambes.

    I found that one handful of corn tortilla chips is enough to stop any weight loss... I've been stopped for 2 days.

    Today, I awoke and promised myself no tortilla chips!! So made a smoothie for snack in the morning and had one at 4pm when I got home from work. It is 6 pm now and I am still full from my blueberry/rhubarb smoothie.
    I keep thinking dinner (which is going to be turkey, cauliflower and sliced peppers or just a salad... and I am not hungry!!

    I'm hoping to see a move in the scale tomorrow.

    A friend is going on some new fangled or old fangled protein diet that is at some center. I looked it up and had a giggle. Basically its like FF in many ways BUT the difference is where I paid for a book and then about once a month I buy my vitamins, these people pay for the company's food for a few weeks plus a few to get weighed in and a consult with the dr.
    Hmmmmm someone is being rooked!! Maybe the premise is that if you pay for it you will stick with it... but I think once you see the lbs melt off, you stick to it. Hopefully she won't get her pocket picked to badly!!
    Yes, I mentioned FF to her but she said she couldn't 'eat that way' LOL!! She is going to be getting pudding in a bag that sets pretty quick when poured in a bowl... ewwww... and will eat 950 calls a day for the first two weeks. The people on youtube doing that diet complain of hunger the first two weeks and lack of energy... plus they are told no exercise during this diet...hmmmm

    Glad I'm doing FF!

    Day 3 completely clean eating!!

    I had stocked up on veggies of all kinds, cracked open my ff cookbook, bought some organic chicken and cooked that in 2 different ways so far.
    This morning showed another -1 on the scale... eventually I will get my weight ticker going and my #s below fixed.

    Took a 40 min walk on the treadmill... love my iPad, hang it over the treadmill console, stick in earplugs and watch a movie on netflix. Caution though... 1. I get shocked for some reason when I have the ear buds in. and 2. NEVER watch a scary movie in the dark on a treadmill.... yea the scare jump reflex is scarier than the actual scene that scared you!!

    Today I went to see an NP who does nutritional counseling and muscle testing. For years I've been tested and retested on my thyroid. I found a condition a few years ago that I fit the profile for called Wilson's Low Temperature Thyroid Syndrome... basically meaning your thyroid is stressed. When the NP tested me, it showed my thyroid was weak. So I've added supplements to my regime to help rest and heal my thyroid. The other thing she found was that my spleen needed attention as well. Hopefully after a week or two I'll start to see a marked difference!

    Been eating clean, been walking daily for 35 mins and yet, I am stuck.
    I had to buy new flax seeds for my LLC and they didn't have the Barleans brand I usually buy... they seemed more powdery. I'm wondering if that is what is keeping me from losing??? Feel a bit bloated too.
    So today after work, I'm back to Whole Foods to see if the Barleans Forti Flax arrived back in stock.

    Been getting creative with meals and loving how I feel. Went to my new Naturopathic Nurse Practitioner who does muscle testing. I tested positive for needing thyroid support. This is nothing new as regular primary Dr. runs a thyroid test on me yearly due to all the symptoms I have...but never shows positive. So, NP said, support for thyroid, support for pancreas, support for ovaries (actually just the one left) and added vitamin D and C, B12, bile salts for lack of gall bladder, and a greens supplement. Yes, thats a lot of little pills in the morning and evening... but I do feel much better!

    Hopefully I can get the scale moving again!

    I am off to NYC tomorrow for the day to gather my college boy's belongings and bring those home. Have to pack a lunch box with my snack and CH2O.

    Finally got the scale to budge!!
    I stayed home from work yesterday due to contracting a dreaded and annoying yeast infection...blah!

    following my instinct, I woke and made up miracle juice for a juice fasting day.
    I did awesome! I laid low, did laundry, pulled all winter clothing to be packed away and switched out my spring summer items to put in closet and then snuggled under a blanket with a movie and later my book.
    Last night I went to my 'detox' group forum... bunch of us did a nasty tasting detox (see above somewhere) and were meet each week for 6 wks to discuss different ways of being and keeping healthy. Last night was about meditation and positive thinking.
    I'd brought kale chips I got in a store in a NY health food store and they were eating those...to much salt for me plus I was being good. One woman loved them and said they were like eating chips (all the salt I'm sure!!). The woman who led the group decided to try a mindfulness eating with everyone and said to take a small chip. When I said "no thanks" and that I was fasting and trying to be super good she PUSHED IT... "OH you can have just ONE!" ... someone needs to tell her that as a health coach she just did what we fight all the time when trying to eat better and lose weight! 'just one won't hurt you' yea?? with that salt on it... 1 would turn to 10 in an instant!!! I stood my ground... good thing I had to use the bathroom (from all the water) and made a little escape. When I got back, they were doing the exercise.

    Finished the night and felt so very proud of myself. Woke this morning and got on scale and saw a 4.5 loss on the scale!!
    Today.. perfectly clean eating!!
