Hi everyone! Well my doc has been putting me through some thyroid and cholesterol testing. Now he wants me to up my dose of Armor Thyroid and start taking Zocor!
I have really been fighting them about taking cholesterol meds. Actually my cholesterol is better than last time it was checked but not quite as low as the doctors want it. It was a total of 232.

I'm not a doctor but I recall that as long as you have a two to one ratio of good (HDL) to total then you're fine. My doctor was just looking at the total number and not taking into account my HDL. Then I hear that the triglycerides are just as important. Maybe someone else will pop on and give us some more information.

Are you talking about total cholesterol or LDL cholesterol? I would definitely suggesting getting a copy of Fat Flush for LIfe which has specific protocols for thyroid management built into the protocols

Yes I would love to have a copy of that book! I have your Fat Flush book and I read everything I can get my hands on that you have written! My mother and two sisters have hasimoto, I think that is what they call it and have been on Thyroid meds and cholesterol meds for some time. The more I learn of the harmful effects the less I want to take prescription meds. My total cholesterol is 232 with LDL at 141 and HDL at 75 and triglycerides at 81. This is even better than my last results a year ago.
I think I could have problems whether I take zocor or not and at 65 I don't want to start. Some people are amazed at my strength and ablilty to get around, and I have read about some bad side effects with Zocor.![]() OK I saw why you were asking about the total and have fixed it. LOL

I am reading Fast Track now and will try to follow the protocals in the book. Thanks for your reply Janine. I found an article with the outline of what our ratios should be and my ratios were very good!
