Which FF supplements are to be avoided by someone who is on blood thinners for a heart arrhythmia? My husband and I FF'd 6 years ago. But he stopped taking the supplements when his heart starting beating so erratically. I continued for awhile, but eventually I stopped as well. However, I know I feel better when I am taking them, especially supplements to keep my liver functioning well. I am starting to FF again, but my husband is afraid to begin because we don't know how the supplements will affect the Coumadin he takes. He has to watch his intake of green leafy vegetables and other foods high in vitamin K because of the blood thinner. Any suggestions?
I don't want to talk to his doctor about it, because the doctor feels that FF is too faddish. He says for my husband to lose weight, all he has to do is exercise more and eat less. Well, he already exercises with a brisk walk for 45 minutes each morning and he eats very little. So I think the roll of fat around his middle is more related to needing to cleanse his liver and get it functioning well again than to lack of exercise. |

Great questions. Thanks for posting. Fish oil is probably the most contraindicated supplement for someone on blood thinners. Don't know however why your hubby had problems. The Dieters' Multi may have Vitamin K, you may need to check that out online. Can't remember offhand. Instead of the greens, zucchini, peppers, broccoli, cauliflower, jicama, string beans, cabbage, etc. should do just fine.
I agree with your comments in the last paragraph. Doctors are the "last" to come around. Fat Flush is the longest lasting "fad" on the planet (LOL)
