Default PCOS-estrogen/progesterone imbalances & copper

I've had this condtion since puberty. I'm now 40 and over the last 15 years have lost at least a 1/3 to 1/2 of my hair. I was interested to read your MMM here:
Copper CRAZY: My Monday Morning Memo for June 29, 2009

I also listened to your audio clip on Copper toxicity which recommended 100mg of zinc per day to counteract some of the excess copper. I am wondering how long it would take to notice any positive effect on my falling/thinning hair if I take 100mg of zinc per day. Would it be beneficial to take more if alopecia is moderate to severe?

Because it's been so long that my hair's been falling, is it too late to help? Do you think that if I get the copper under control, I might have a change of getting some of my hair back?

Thank you Ann Louise for the quick answer. I will add the biotin until I can get a TMA.
