My FF journey began on February 1, 2010. I started with FFFL winter pre-qual and lost 6 pounds the first week and 3.5 inches. Then for the next 3 weeks, I lost no weight but did lose a couple more inches. I started right off with the fat flush kit and also take CLA 1000 as directed. My frustration increased due to no weight loss (I have 35 pounds to lose) and my son is getting married in June!
So I decided to start over and beginning tomorrow, February 26, 2010, I will weigh in, measure in and begin Classic FF, phase 1. I think I've lost a couple pounds this week because my clothes are fitting more comfortably. I started exercising (purchased an incliner machine and a rebounder) on Sunday 2/21/10 with 20-30 minutes daily of walking on the treadmill. This week my rebounder came and yesterday was my first experience with it. I love it and cannot believe what a good workout it is. Did 10 mins yesterday and 15 mins today, gentle bouncing and then marching and back to gentle bouncing. Looking forward to starting phase 1 tomorrow and have lots of great food prepared.

2/26/10 First day of phase 1 and also my weigh in day. I lost 2 more pounds and 1 more inch-yeah! the scale finally moved. I think I overdid the rebounder yesterday; tried it barefoot instead of with my sneakers on and after a little while the back of my right heel had a sharp pain. Today it is better but I will rest today-no exercise. Had done the treadmill 5 days in a row this week.
It's snowing here today and will probably stay home from work so I will utilize the time to cook some meals ahead and freeze. I feel really good about this plan. I really looked at myself in the mirror this morning which is a very hard thing for me to do, and could see such a difference in my body shape after just 3 weeks on FFFL. Looking forward to starting at the beginning with phase 1 and hopefully drop some more fast pounds and then settle into the phase 2 plan. I have always had a big stomach and waist even when I was very thin in my younger years. I inherited that from both my parents but especially shaped just like my mother and my daughter has inherited that from me. Funny how body shapes move down the generations. I grew up hearing my mother always say how she needed to walk and do some exercise and lose some weight but she never did. She had type II diabetes, had trible by-pass surgery and finally died of ovarian cancer some years ago. In the past couple of years since I quit smoking and the weight just piled on and menopause set in, I found it impossible to lose any weight and was at my all time high of 177 pounds at 5'4" and 54 years old. I tried very diet known to man and would lose those few pounds but refused to exercise. I avoided it at all costs. Then my husband (whose is an insulin dependent diabetic at age 51) and I discussed buying some equipment for home use. Now there are no excuses and we have both been doing our exercise everyday. I plan to work up to longer times on the incliner and rebounder after phase 1 is complete but it is encouraging to already see the results after 1 week. I have put it in my head that I HAVE to continue to exercise daily even if it's just some walking because I don't want to be overweight and unhealthy any longer.

Completed my first day of phase 1 and into day 2. It was fairly easy, felt a little hungry last night but my evening shake with flaxseeds curbed my appetite very well. I had been cutting back my clean carbs from winter ff to 1 and sometimes 2 per day so I was pretty used to no friendly carbs except at dinner. I made the spinach flatbread recipe and it was so good, I made another batch to freeze-can't believe how much like a real flatbread it is-great recipe!.
Had a very good workout today on my incliner machine and another 10 minutes on the rebounder while watching the beginning video-very, very good.

Today is my 3rd day of phase 1. Doing well, taking all my recommended supplements. Spent the afternoon cooking some more today and I was somewhat disappointed in some of the recipes I tried. I am not a fussy eater but it's going to be hard to finish these as leftovers but I am going to try-I hate wasting food!
I love the FF soup with cabbage added to it. I made another double batch today and froze some more so I should be set for a while. Did 15 minutes on the rebounder today with the beginning video on. I cannot believe what a thorough workout that is-looks so easy but very challenging and lots of fun! I am hooked on it. I am going to re-read the fitness part of the ff book to make sure I am not overdoing it which I think I did yesterday with the incliner and the rebounder.

Today is kind of a sluggish day. Woke up not feeling myself and had very little energy even after drinking my hot lemon water. I only could get through 10 mins on the rebounder and didn't attempt the incliner today. Tonight I bowl so at least a little more exercise.
I also felt a bit bloated this morning; not sure what it's from. I increased my calcium/magnesium yesterday to help with elimination. That may be why. I actually feel fat today and my tummy is rolling above my pants which hasn't happened for a few weeks. I am strictly staying with all protocols so I know I didn't eat something wrong. Oh well, tomorrow will be better.

Tuesday woke up and did 30 minutes on the treadmill. Later in the day started with terrible, painful shin splint! Very bummed at myself for not stretching before the rebounder on Monday.
Will rest this leg until healed and then back to my routine. Eating is all good, have stuck with all the protocols as prescribed. Starting to get a little bored with the meal choices but sticking with it regardless. looking forward to p2

Yesterday, 3/5/10 started phase 2. Did not lose any weight for entire week on phase 1 nor did I lose any inches anywhere-very frustrating but I really think that doing the 1 week pre-qual to FFFL winter and then 2 full weeks of FFFL winter already detoxed my body. The last week of FFFL, I had cut out all dairy and was down to mostly 1 clean carb per day, and at the most 2.
So I started with the recommended carb at breakfast and will continue that this week and see how it goes. Shin splint is relaxing but still not 100%. I am going to do some stretches later on today and some breathing exercises. Can't wait to get back to my rebounder and incliner.

Today is the last day of week 1 in phase 2. Tomorrow is my weigh in date and I feel lighter, we'll see then. Shin splint is still preventing me from exercising and I am very bummed out about this since I had gotten myself in a great routine. I know that will also slow my weight loss down since I am a turtle anyway. But this is the best I can do for now until my leg heal 100%. Bowling on Monday only flared it up really badly again and will not bowl this week if it's the least bit sore.
Staying within all my protocols and looking forward to adding another half serving of carbs tomorrow, that is if I at least lost something on the scale, otherwise I'll just stick to the one for now. I know I have lost some inches because my jeans and other pants are fitting much looser than last week and my bra is no longer tight which is huge for me! Fat flush soup has been a great staple for me to eat at lunch and sometimes dinner with additional veggies. I might try it with some ground turkey for a change. Also the spaghetti squash pudding recipe that I have tweaked by adding lime juice & lime zest has been a real treat and great way to get that extra veggie in for a snack and an egg serving.

First week of phase 2 completed and I lost 1 pound and 2 inches total. I really enjoy the healthseed spelt bread in the morning with my smoothie. I did feel a little let down this morning because I thought I had lost more than 1 pound and more inches off my waist since my pants were feeling loose. But I have to remember that not being able to do my workouts due to shin splint, is going to impact the amount I lose but this is out of my control for right now until this leg heals.
I haven't decided yet if I am going to add the 1/4 portion of the 2nd carb yet-I may add it but not everyday. Also contemplating whether to give up the 2nd smoothie in the evening until I can go back to my exercise routine. But I am really hungry in the evenings and have really missed the clean carb at dinner. Last night I just have the cran water with the FS. Tonight I am going to make the gingered shrimp and snow pea soup for dinner and have some leftovers for the weekend since I have to work most of the weekend. Today I have added the fish oil to use for my salads, going to try this back since I have a huge bottle I bought when I started FFFL and it's really only good for 3 months. Will still continue with FSO as directed. Really miss those chia seeds and chia crackers, seemed I was losing more when I was eating those.

Went to the doctor yesterday to have my shin splint looked at. They exrayed it but I haven't heard back yet. Doc put me on a anti-inflamatory med which I really fought him not to give me but the alternative was possibly a cortisone shot or to continue as I have been.
So reluctantly, I started this medication yesterday and have to stay on it for 2 weeks and if not better go back. Doc said after 1 week I can start walking on the treadmill with no incline and build back up if no problems. He said no no no to the rebounder because of the impact which really confused me because I thought the rebounder was very little impact but he said no bouncing. I know this is strongly affecting my lack of weight loss - I have been weighing myself about every 3 days just to make sure that I am not gaining due to the addition of the sweet potatoes and so far I am not gaining but rather staying the same. Oh I can't wait to get back to my exercise routine. I am doing great with the spelt toast and now with the little sweet pot but not everyday, maybe every other day or 2 days on one day off. It is interesting to see and watch for changes.
