#1 Recommendation before starting week 1?

Can I jump right into the week 1 menu
or
should I be doing some pre-GF preparation?

Sorry - working out of town during week + taking class so I have been skipping around the chapters . . .

I found it was easier to do if I was prepared with everything I need. Planning is helpful for every one of ALG's plans--in my opinion.
