Hi everyone, again, I just got my copy of FFFL and was very excited to see all the potential new options---until I just read here that perhaps I shouldn't move to FFFL. :-(
So here's my story. Years ago I did the classic FF program and at that time I lost the last 10 lbs I wanted to lose. Fast forward to now, older, with hypothyroidism, and now maybe 20 or 30 lbs more to lose. One month ago, I started the SS and over the first two weeks, I lost 9 lbs. Right after that I went to Japan with my husband for a week and a half, and got advice from ALG about how to manage that trip, which looked like it had FFFL guidelines. Although there were a couple of food indiscretions, I lost a pound and a half on the trip, and since I've been back (about a week) I've been basically on FF1.5 ( occasionally having a FF tortilla, which has been OK, and trying a winter squash, that sent me into major sugar cravings) and lost another pound. We are getting ready to leave again for 2 weeks in NYC, and I know I will be having some major dinners out (though I will try to be careful), and so I was excited to maybe try the HMB before the trip---or at least incorporate some of the food items that might be helpful for my hypothyroidism (seaweed gomasio for example) because my doctor really wants me to take iodine supplements for my thyroid, which I have resisted because of problems with acne secondary to that, but in addition, I've now been completely salt free on SS and FF. I have to be honest, that I'd love to insert an occasional legal treat, like turkey bacon as in FFFL or a different oil (? coconut) than only flax. For the most part, omitting starches and dairy hasn't been that awful for me and I feel I could continue this part of FF indefinitely. What should I do? Thanks in advance for your advice! |

Dear MaryAnn,
Thank you for your post which allows me once again to clarify how to proceed with Fat Flush. Siince you have already been a "veteran" Fat Flusher and have completed the classic Fat Flush, you are more than a great candidate to move on to the HMB as well as the new seasonally-based program. For those of my followers who have NOT completed the classic program and are still in the midst of phases 2 and 3, I am suggesting that they continue with the classic program and after reaching their goal weight, proceed onto the appropriate seasonal Fat Flush for Life program. Enjoy your trip ![]() |
