I have got some flavor of it this week. Stopped all sugar, starch and gluten products.eating lots of salad but still need to prepare some home made dressing w/o fructose and glucose. The seven day prequel doesn't seem to be an issue. The only challenge is caffeine; 7 days w/o tea, coffee and green tea!!!

Thumbs up

Day 1 for me!

This is the third time I've done this detox. This time I ordered the kit from Unikey.

Today is going to be a day of cleaning veggies and cooking. I'm hoping to get a lot of my meals for the week prepped and or cooked. I'm making some new recipes from the cookbook that I have been meaning to try. I'm a vegetarian, so I'm also trying some of the new recipes from the Fat Flush for Life book.

Also, I forgot I had a birthday party to go to today. Resisting the cake shouldn't be a problem. I'm usually really good on the first day. It's days 3 and 4 where I start getting tempted.

I just read the post, it's sunday night. I have to try to grab on to this opportunity. I've been working, not exercising, but at least I could try to do this. I'll start tomorrow, 2/20

This is first time Detox for me. I am little overwhelmed. I didn't do too much preparation for the meals. Still survived Day 1 and Day2 with my existing stock. First two days, ate omelets with lots of veggies, spicy Indian style lentil soups, orange juice brown rice pulav. Attended a evening celebration; tried only corn chips with fresh salsa and lots of lentil soup with veggies. I did lot of good shopping today. Plan to try new veggies like Asparagus, Artichoke and Brussels sprouts...Not sure when will be needing the detox kit. I know I need HCL after the fasting day. What else is needed?

Everything is going good for me so far. My schedule was messed up with the birthday party, so I ended up having a snack of peanut butter. It had a little sugar in it, but I figured it was much better than anything else I could have grabbed at that point.

bsingh - That food sounds wonderful! I may need to get a recipe for the soup from you. The first two times I did this, I didn't get the detox kit and everything was fine. The only thing I used was the HCL for the sequel. As long as you add in the recommended foods and avoid the detractors, you don't need anything but the HCL. I'm interested in seeing if the extra supplements make any difference this time. Let me know if you need ideas for your new veggies.

musicmom - welcome! The more the merrier!

Default Lentil soups

Day 3 , I am at work. Everything is going great except for mild headache due to lack of coffee. not sure if we can consume yogurt like Activia or fat-free fruit n nut. It seems to have lot of sugar.

Lentil soup recipe is listed below on your request.

Lentils are heart of Indian cooking and good source of protein for vegetarians.

There are ten different varieties; the best one to use are Moong(Yellow color ) and Red lentil (whole Masri); the one available in American grocery stores. For Moong, you might have to go to Indian store or any store that carries ethnic food.

Take a cup of lentils and add 2 cup of water along with vegetables of your liking; diced carrots, celery, peas, tomatoes etc along with fresh ginger about 1/2 inch piece or more if you can take strong ginger flavor. Add turmeric, red chili and salt to taste.

I usually use pressure cooker to cook my Lentils but you use regular pot to boil and cover and slow cook for at least 20 minutes. Pressure cooker takes 3-5 minutes after the initial steam.

In a separate pan, use olive or any other vegetable oil, put cumin seeds, let the seeds splutter, then add onion and tomatoes and let it cook for few minutes. Add to the lentil soup. Top with lemon juice and garam masala (optional)
