Hi There,
Sea vegetables are not listed in any phase of Fat Flush...but you're right, they are wonderful for women! In fact, there will be some fabulous recipes using sea veggies in the upcoming revision of Super Nutrition for Menopause which btw will have an exciting new title! ALG doesn't typically add new foods or change quantities of foods unless she feels they have a significant benefit (like the addition of the 2nd whey shake) so to keep confusion to a minimum and to prevent the FF book from becoming antiquated before a revsion comes out. Let me see what I can find out from ALG for you. It might take a bit, so be patient!

Hi Chutatip,
I haven't forgotten you, honestly! I just heard back from ALG in regards to your sea veggie question. Here's what she said: "I seem to remember that you posed a question regarding the use of seaweeds for phase 1. I think these are AOK with the caveat that some seaweeds are notoriously salty. I would suggest that only those Fat Flushers with low blood pressure or those who have been on Phase 1 longer than two weeks should enjoy the sea veggies. My favorite snack, PS is toasted Nori. It's mild sodium content is very satisfying on these hot Idaho evenings." So there ya go! As I said, ALG doesn't often make changes to the original program, but obviously she feels strongly enough about the many health benefits of eating sea veggies to allow for their use. Just make sure you pay close attention to her guidelines. Thanks for posing this question! Enjoy!

There is a reference to sea vegetables on p. 168 of the book, in relation to calicum, but it says it's OK to use them as stated above.

My grandmother used to eat dulse. She loved it and my gram was eons ahead of her time. She used to cook flax on the stove back in the 30's along with slippery elm and lots of other goodies....
btw, she lived to be 101 and renewed her drivers license for 4 years at the age of 96. I miss my Grammio more than I can tell you. Dulse was very high in iodine, as I recall, but probably has lots of other nutrients too.
