Rave away, Sharon - we love happy flushers!
PS - Yes I agree - Charli's post should definitely be in the Library - I'll mention it to someone!

Sharon: I love what you have expressed about finding happiness and making peace with you body's own unique timing, which may be very different at this point than it was previously. When I first started FF (at age 49, BTW), I lost weight very very slowly and kept thinking there was something wrong with me. Well, there WAS -- my past eating habits and sedentary but highly stressed lifestyle -- but the problem was in the past, not the present -- and each of the changes I was making, step by step, carried me forward and built upon the previous one, bringing me many wonderful benefits long before the results began to show up more dramatically in terms of weight and size. I finally figured out that by doing FF to the best of my ability, I had actually begun living in the solution, and that only good could possible come from that.

Like you, I have found it absolutely essential to begin to accept myself in all aspects for who and what I am, right now, in this moment, without regard to what others around me are doing. This began on a practical level right here on the Forum by not comparing myself to anyone else here, but it has had so many profound effects in numerous other areas of my life. This is why I love FF -- what seems at first to be a simple program about losing some unwanted pounds turns out to open up a whole new way of life full of deep and profound changes, an amazing catalyst for growth on all levels. I am so happy to be traveling this path alongside you and the others here who discover this, each in our own ways and in our own times.

Gee, I seem to have wandered pretty far afield from the topic of this thread, but I wanted to respond to your post, and this is where it took me. Love the idea, BTW, of getting this thread archived as a link in the library. (I'm a frustrated amateur librarian at heart LOL)

Much love

There is a list of abbreviations/acronyms in the "Library" on the Home Page. WLF = Weight Loss Formula

gained

I started the FFP and didn't quite follow correctly the first week and as a result lost nothng.
I restarted and have been on this for 5 days, following it exactly, and I gained a half pound. I am on anti depressants, I have been a yo-yo dieter, and I have lost 20 lbs on Weight Watchers and only have about 10 more to go, but I don't get it. My sister was on it for 1 week and lost 7 lbs and she doesn't have a lot of weight to lose, less than me, so I don't get. Can anyone help?

In the Fat Flush Plan book there is a very excellent set of sections about when fat is not fat or "false fat" where Ann Gittleman covers several reasons weight is stubborn. One is food sensitivity, but there are also possible issues with thyroid, with hormonal balance, candida etc. Read through it and see if something rings a bell. I have read and re read that section, each time gaining a bit more insight.

But my basic suggestion is stick with the plan, and learn to observe your body carefully, not just your weight. Do the journal! Not just for your emotional moods or challenges but note the days when your sleep is better and when it is not, note when your eye lids are puffy, and when they are not, when your nose is clear or when its stuffy (not from a cold). See if you can begin to discover which foods work for you and which do not. The most common ones that are problems are dairy, grains, and chocolate, tho for some it is soy, or oranges, or something else. My weight loss was VERY difficult until I finally accepted that wheat and dairy just weren't going to work for me AND when I finally left off chocolate. The weight has been falling off almost to my amazement lately, when earlier it was so stubborn.

Stick with the plan because there is a lot of healing going on. People here have said many times -- weight loss -- especially this version -- is not a straight line down. It moves and then it stalls and then it moves again. Some of that may have to do with the internal healing process. If you are following the plan carefully, you will be avoiding most allergy sensitivities, just by doing the plan, you will be curbing candida and sugar metabolic problems (blood sugar issues) too. Your lymph system will be getting better circulation carying out toxins. There are so many things working for you and with you doing this program.

When I finally resolved to eat this way if only because I FELT so much better -- regardless of loosing weight, when my goal really focused on wellness as much as weight, interestingly enough, the weight also started to move too.
