Hi Joss! Merry Christmas to you too! [:I]

Denise, thanks for getting our rears in gear and starting the fitness thread.

Brenda, glad to see you over here!

Going to a "re-gifting" party tonight ... I'm eating dinner before I go and will only eat raw veggies if they have any. Otherwise nothing. I'm still kinda sick so I'm not all that hungry anyway. Have a lovely evening everyone!

Brenda! Glad you are going to join us!

Shasta, so sorry your still feeling blah. But let's look on the bright side...your lack of appetite may just keep you FF compliant!!

Catch up with you soon!

Denise

Hey gals, I'm in, too! Wouldn't ever want to part from such an amazing support group! By Jan. 1, I intend to be fully healthy and ready to ROCK!

Denise, Sarah, Shasta, Jossy and Brenda...here's to a great year of exercise and dry-brushing! Didn't we say we were aiming for a group swimsuit season picture trail? Exercise is the key, I know!

I've been thinking about my exercise plan the past few days (had lots of time to think while I was down). I want to be aggressive and really work on losing my tummy! So I'll try to post my plan early next week! I'll look to everyone for ideas of course[], so I can't wait to see what others post!

Josachi ... I hoped I'd see you over here ... us soul sisters have to stick together! I too am thinking about my goals and will post them before the end of the year.

Denise, lack of appetite is a good thing! LOL! I still managed to eat three ginger-boy cookies but it could have been much worse. I didn't eat the cream cheese bar looking thingys!

Jossy, thanks so much for your sweet get well wishes and hugs ... I feel better already! A coworker told me to sleep with mentholatum on the souls of my feet with socks on and that overnight it would travel up through my body and remove the remnents of a cough. I got to thinking about all of the aromatherapy tricks I've learned on the forum and that it might just work so instead of laughing I am going to try it tonight! Will let you know the result of my "study" at a later date. Oh, and the party was fun. I came home with furry wine glass slippers and a pewter wine bottle coaster. Not half bad!

Good night ladies! Tis the season ................... to dream about getting skinny in 2005!!

Josachi! So Glad to have you with us for the next challege Missed you on the other thread!

So our "roll call" so far is Denise, Sarah, Shasta, Jossy, Brenda, and Josachi...we're gonna have a great time!

Shasta, glad you had a good time at the party. Fuzzy wine glass slipper??? One of the gifts I got at the office were 2 red wine "tumblers." I guess something new?? My first reaction was, (sadly) I will no longer be drinking wine, not just because of the FF, but because it does affect my allergies (yes, both white & red) . I thought, "Well these will be a nice new glass for some cranwater or my favorite wine replacement, sparkling water with lemon & lime! Maybe you can somehow incorporate your fuzzy glass wear into your FF routine . I know this holiday season has been a struggle for you (as many) to stay plan compliant. Good for you for passing on the cream cheese things. Also, you have been not feeling well and worked long hours. I pray that for the 2005 Holidays you will be at your goal (or real close -- what is your goal by the way??) and that your experience will be much different!!!

I pray that 2006 is THE year for all of us!! Let's truly make it happen in 2006 Ladies!! Baby, I am going for the gold!! And it has "2005 FF Winner" engraved on it!! There is one waiting for each of us!! And as we KNOW it takes a lot of training, hard work, focus, and personal resolve to, once and for...CAN YOU HEAR ME? ONCE AND FOR ALL GIVE OURSELVES THE BEST GIFT WE CAN...GOOD HEALTH!!! We CAN do it! You all may be familar with the Eagle's song, "Already Gone." There is a very profound line in the song, "So often times it happens, that we live our lives in chains and we never even know we held the key!" Yes, my FF friends, if we stay true to ourselves we will "sing our victory song" in 2005!

O.K. can you tell I am psych'n myself up for todays, 6 hours graze-a-ton at my in-laws??? Not making the same mistake I did last Friday. Came to forum for support!!

Later my dear, dear friends and support, later!!

Denise

Hey Denise! I missed this new challenge, guess when I was traveling, this happened...but count me in! This is where I really need help now, and now if I know I need to be accountable, I will do it.

I too keep my brush by the shower, so I will remember to use it, but rushing around before work, it doesen't often happen - but now, I am going to make an effort, to re-organize, and possibly try to rebound for at least 15 minutes (more if I can) in the morning before work. I KNOW that I will feel so much more energized if I do that, and then any excercise I can fit in later will be a big bonus. I do strenghth training at the gym twice a week, and noticed a big difference in my energy levels, and feeling stronger. This week, though, what a bummer. Lost out on the weight training because of traveling...[V] Oh, well- not a time to stress about that, just go on...I am however, encouraged that I just lost another two pounds, and my two very best friends in the world who I went down to see when I dropped my kids off could not believe how good I looked![:I] I was embarrassed at the compliments (they were heaped on), but it felt good to be almost at my goal weight, and not be looking at others and wishing I could look that way.....

Oh, yes, the brushing so helps, not only to feel good, but how wonderfully soft the skin gets! I too, had keratin on my arms, and now at 44 years of age, I am getting to look better than I did in my early thirties! Could definitely NOT do it without you all. Amazing what this forum does for one's esteem....I know I say it often, but wow on the friends, and the support, and the caring we have here. Thanks again for all, and I look forward to this challenge too!!!

~Cathy

PS- Shasta, I hope you feel better soon...!

Count me in!!!

I've been so busy and haven't been to The Forum in way too long - so I just insisted on five minutes to myself to come back here and get a shot of FF. I'm so happy to see this challenge and am quite looking forward to it.

For me the second half of December holds Hanukkah (my husband), Christmas (me and my family), his birthday, our anniversary, and our annual holiday open house shebang. And this year since I obviously didn't think I had enough to do I threw in a powder room remodel!

I've strayed in the midst of all this but not too far afield, but I really, really, really need to be more serious about my cardio. I do the yoga, I do the brushing, but the walking has taken a serious backseat and I don't even own a tramp yet (hint, hint Santa!).

So Happy Holidays to one and all - enjoy your foods, whatever you may eat, enjoy your family and I'll see you all again on New Years Day!!!

A big FF hug to everyone,
Kathy

Welcome Cathy and Kathy!! So glad you'll both be joining us!!
And Kathy, so good to have you back and checking in. You have been missed! [:X]

Denise, thanks for the pep-talk! [:I] I won't be able to use my "fuzzy wine glass" thingy's till P3! As far as my goal goes (and I love that you are already thinking ahead to our NEXT holiday season and how we'll already be at our goals!) is to lose 50-60 pounds. Truthfully, I'll be back at "normal" weight according to the BMI charts in about 40 pounds but I'd like to get back into the jeans I wore in college! I think I'll know my true goal once I assess where I am once I've lost a majority of my weight. I am so ready to crack the whip and work like a dog in the new year. There is just something about a fresh start and I think we're going to be surrounded by some amazing positive energy right here on the forum. [:I]

For my fitness goals I'm going to do the eliptical machine at my gym 5-6 days a week and do strength training 2-3 days a week.

Target areas are:
- push ups and chest presses for a natural non-surgical "lift"
- SOMETHING!?!? ANYthing!! Any suggestions??? for inner thighs
- work on the triceps and biceps
- lots of work on the glutes

Anyway, 2005 is going to be our year for success!!
