Default menopause question

Hello, I'm 52 and currently in full menopause. I currently use wild yam progesterone cream. I want to use some herbs instead of using the cream to balance my hormones, plus relieve some other issues I'm having, such as rapid heart beat, and the usual hot flashes. Does anyone know if herbs can be a replacement for progesterone cream??

Default herbs for menopause

What kind of herbs would be best for menopause symptoms, specifically hot flashes and racing heart??

Cindy:
Welcome to the Forum. You are a prime candidate for my book Before the Change as well as a salivary hormone test, which I highly recommend to assess your adrenals and reproductive hormones. (Check this out under Testing at UNI KEY Health, Your Universal Key to Health). It is impossible to make responsible suggestions without knowing these values. I take the test yearly to "tweak" my program.
Best of luck,
Dr. Ann Louise

I have your book before the change and I had my hormones checked a while back and they were somewhat low. I can't be on progesterone cream because I had breast cancer once. I'm trying to use some menopausal supplements in a twice per day pill. The ingredients are Dong Quai, hawthorn, motherwort, licorice, passionflower, black cohosh, siberian eleuthero root, pipsissewa herb, and dulse. My main reason for asking about the heartbeat is I've read that a menopausal woman can have elevated heartbeat even when not having a hot flash. I was wanting to know if this is rare for menopause or are there many women who have fast heartbeat. I also read that hormone levels are fluctuating all the time and once they settle down, then the heartbeat should normalize. I had my heart checked with CT scan, EKG, etc, and my heart is fine and healthy. So, I don't know what else it could be other than menopausal related. Any feedback would be great.

Your elevated heart beat may respond to additional magnesium. I would suggest at least 400 mg per day as well as additional Vitamin E and Co Q 10 - two primary heart-loving nutritients.
